Colonial Bar 12/03/10

On a last minute cancellation, Kneeslider were faced with playing the Colonial bar with 2 days notice and for the first time since formation, without a sound engineer. After some technical hitches, the band were set up well within the time constraints set by the Colonial Bar and were more than glad to see Wayne who had agreed to be the sit in at the sound desk for this evening.

The crowd attending this evening were expecting another band and when Kneeslider took to the stage were initially unresponsive with some ‘Boo’s’ heard from the balcony which were quickly dispelled by a solid first set of punk orientated songs and the help of the door staff ejecting the disapprovers.

The second set was not without its faults from all concerned, but better received and warmed the audience over enough to gain 2 encores. A highlight of the second set being a near perfect performance of love shack by the B52’s. Perfectly executed by Shil and Kerry's vocals. Beanz also needs to take credit for continuing to improve vocally and for his stunning stage performance this evening. An energy fuelled performance by all who stole the audience who were expecting a different band but were won over by shear effort. Special credit to Wayne for his sitting in on the desk. You did an excellent job and for the first time produced no feedback!
